Grid Tied Bi Directional Net Metering & Solar Electricity
- Allows a home or business to produce more solar electricity or renewable energy in the summer months and use that credit for the winter months.
- Excess electricity produced by the renewable energy system, beyond what is consumed by the customer, can flow into the utility grid and is registered as a credit through the net meter. If the customer’s consumption of electricity exceeds what is generated by the energy system, the meter will register the ‘net’ amount of electricity that has been supplied from the grid.
- Buildings that are net zero rely on a summer excess electricity credit from the utility company to function during the winter months.
